We balance toughness with compassion
The Good Shepherd Alliance is a Christian organization. This defines how we serve, not who we serve or who we employ. Everyone has a place here, and even if you don’t believe in God, you can believe in what we do.
The Good Shepherd Alliance stands on Christian principles; seeking God’s guidance through prayer and operating with the utmost of integrity and humility. We seek to be transparent in operation and responsible in stewardship, always with respect and appreciation for all who serve and are served through our mission.
The Good Shepherd Alliance is a Christian non-profit organization providing help and hope for the homeless and those in need through emergency and transitional housing and outreach services leading to self-sufficiency and self-worth.
“For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.’ Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?’ And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’
The Grace of Jesus Christ Shapes Everything—and Everyone
We are privately funded and guided by our moral principles and the belief that the grace of Jesus Christ shapes everything—and everyone. That is why we are so passionate about mapping the way for the entire household to make permanent changes toward permanent homes. For people that have been abandoned by others and hardened by the system, our ability to balance toughness with compassion makes all the difference, letting they know that they can learn to solve problems and change behaviors and ways of thinking that have not worked for them. Because they know that we will not give up on them, they don’t give up.
